SAY YOU LOVE ME

Another favorite best selling author that awakens my sleeping heart into wanting to fall in love all over again with her writing is Johanna Lindsey. This latest re-read, Say You Love Me, is a fairy tale love story that happens even in real life. Many dreams of it…the “from rags to riches” life twists that is almost impossible to believe.

This is amongst the Malory Brothers Novel that I have followed through, the next generation actually, and still very much interesting. It is every woman’s dream to meet their prince charming, and so Kelsey did, in a whore house. Not because she is a whore but had the misfortune of needing to be auction just to save her family. Luckily, Lord Derek Malory had to outbid the highest bidder who he had a previous misfortune of having a squabble with and knows to be a sadist, thus had been her buyer.

But in every “happiness” there is an ordeal to pass through. How can a mistress be accepted in such a wealthy family? Will society ever approve of it? Will love blossom and will it be enough? What of the pride of the rival Derek publicly outshined? Will he give up that easily or there be another encounter?

Read and enjoy the thrill and romantic turn about of the story as I did.

DOOMSDAY CONSPIRACY by Sidney Sheldon

I'm sure if you're a book reader, you have heard of the wit of Sidney Sheldon. And he has once again proven his mastery in quenching my thirst for a good read.

His books are not all chuminess, there's thrill, intrigue, mystery, adventure...sometimes all combined together to come up with one best-selling book. I simply love the way he write. Makes me lose myself in it, believing I'm within the story. It has always been an addiction to finish the book from cover to cover. I especially love his Master of the Game, Memories of Midnight, Other side of Midnight and Star Shine Down. The others are as good, but there's the best among the bests!

This latest read "The Doomsday Conspiracy" is another great adventure that is satisfaction guaranteed. More so if you arae a believer of another world outside ours, this will yet agian make you believe that there really is an existing world beyond.

Sheldon's book, I call them ART!

DECEPTION POINT by Dan Brown

You may see me posting here and there in my 4 blogs, visiting and connecting with blogger friends, but mind you, I still have time to take care of my daughter and have quality time with her PLUS quench my thirst with my reading.

Yes, I love reading novels and books...and though I have read it already, I am reading again Deception Point. Dan Brown is one of my favorite writers and as I await for his 5th book to finally land in my palms, I am rereading this action filled book. I am yet again amazed at his skill in writing and his intelligence in bringing out the best in every setting in his books. His imagination is boundless as well, that at times I wonder where he get them.

Thumbs-up Mr. Brown! Love your stories! Love your books! Hurry with them so I don't need to stop and wait for yet another one.

This book is a detective-mystery-love story in one, and i simply love it. And the Filipino character of "favoring the underdog" was brought out in me as I read this paperback. Every book of Sidney Sheldon's I've read is simply fabulous!

“UNDER THE BOARDWALK” by Carly Phillips

I have a newly discovered author by the name of Carly Phillips. This first book I’ve read is simply splendid. I now added her to my list of what I considered “Masters of Bestsellers”.

Though I can’t begin to place how she got the title…I like this book for its blend of sizzling romance with scenes, life drama concerning family issues and suspense action that makes me want to read non-stop.

I recommend you get a copy and try it yourself!

HEART OF A WARRIOR by Johanna Lindsey

Sissy and I both love reading paperbacks/pocketbooks/novels. Each one buys one book after the other. And this one book she bought have been in the shelf for years already, but surprisingly, I still wasn’t able to read it yet until a few days ago.
If I remember right, I started to before, but then again I didn’t find it too interesting so decided to stack it for the meantime instead and start another...and totally have forgotten about it.

When I don’t have a new book at hand, I just grab from our stock of old ones. And so restarted with this fiction. My interest peaked only after I’ve gone through a couple of chapters, maybe due to the setting being from another planet. I’m not much into this sort of thing, but I should say, the author’s imagination is wide enough to come up with ideas of another world. A warrior from there, Dalden, was characterized as someone with qualities as humanly as the earthling Brittany, though on the barbaric ages. Their romantic link was made possible though out of this world interpretation. Something they call “lifemate”…in our terms can be “soulmate”, but even more intense to the point of not letting go.
The story ended nicely, and I can even give it a rate of 6 out of 10 (10 being the highest). Not something I would choose to read again though.

"REMEMBER ME?" by Sophie Kinsella

Got my "another book"...

...and it's as good as the last one! This is so typical of me, once a get to read a magnificent story...the moment I finish it, I just got to start with another! It's like an unquenchable thirst. Good thing I bought two...still, that doesn't stop me. Now that I'm out of stock, I'll just go and re-read those amongst my stocks until I get a new one=)

I've read Sophie Kinsella's Shopaholic series...and she got listed in my "Master's List". This most recent book of hers is another achievement that deserves an applause! The story is amazing. The amnesia, the no-carbs diet, the multimillionair husband, the loft-style living, the true love...everything goes together. And they are all a present-day fantasy. It's like..."I can have amnesia!" (haha!) Well, it isn't that the character had it easy...she also have her own hardships to face. Who wouldn't with a 3year memory gap? You'll also get the shock of your life when you found out that you lost your best friends in one night, your dad's funeral had passed and you changed from a simple new-at-the-office girl to a "bitchy boss" who is one of the best on top management and is a workaholic. Total chaos!

If art lovers consider Da Vinci, Michael Angelo, Botticelli, Monet, Rembrandt, Rouault, Van Gogh and others as The Masters...MY MASTERS include Judith McNaught, Sidney Sheldon, Sophie Kinsella, Julie Garwood, Johanna Lindsey, Jude Deveraux and some others...and not forgetting Dan Brown being the Grand Master.

"DOUBLE STANDARD" by Judith McNaught

Yet again, I was awestrucked by my all-time favorite Judith McNaught!!! Another one of her books came within arms length, and I grabbed it. And I wasn’t able to put it down until I’m all done!

I love the story. Yes, romance…and it’s heart warming. I even shed some tears. The character Nick, being filthy rich and a chased-after bachelor, is everyone's dream come true...even mine. And Lauren, a stunning office girl can be anyone. They're the present day Cinderella and Prince Charming. Who doesn't want to live in a fairy tale? And this book made me live it in every line...

At some point my li’l one asked me “Mom, why are you smiling?”, because I really am as I read through. McNaught was able to bring out emotions. She pleases the readers with clever story twists, and delights us with lifelike situations. I relished every chapter…and it makes me hunger for another book. Another story to take pleasure in!

BOOK: SHOPAHOLIC AND SISTER

Just finished reading a lite love story, both romantic and familial. The story had it's unique twists. Though this can happen to real life, it's a little over the edge addiction to shopping. It have its funny side, the the main character is a little overbearing. She's sick! Good thing, the couple is well-off to be able to carry on such extravagant hobby of buying irrationally...though the husband, Luke, tries his best to put Becky on track--his method is ineffective. That's where her trifty sister comes in.

A good book. Easy and relaxing.

The D^ VINCI CODE of DAN BROWN

This book deserves a standing ovation! I applaud the author for his uniqueness for coming up with such concept; for his bravado for such a controversial topic; for his wit in creating web of events that is most thrilling and exciting; for his brilliance in incorporating facts from fiction making one wonder which is which. It reflects vast knowledge on the chosen theme.

The book itself is a masterpiece, just as those masterpieces he mentioned in the story. It is a sequel of his first book "Angels &Demons", that is in the same way a page-turner, a collection, a work of a real genius!

I especially like th deciphering of codes. The mind-boggling mystery and breathtaking chase makes you want to read continuously from cover to cover. I salute his conclusion as much as the climax!

Here, I can really say "Read it! Or miss half of your life!"

SOMETHING WONDERFUL

The story befits the title, for it really is Something Wonderful! Just as what happened to the main characters.

A simple girl that came from a remote area called Morsham turned out to be a ravishing lady that conquered London. Moreso, became the "belle" of London. There were tricks of reality...unbelievable twists...but in the end, everything seemed to be every woman's dream come true. The man of your dreams, a princess' life, and an uncomparable beauty.

As was before, this isn't the first time I read this McNaught, I just love her stories that after a few months, you'll see her book in my lap once again. My "collection" includes Judith McNaught, Julie Garwood, Sidney Sheldon and Jude Deveraux.

CECILIA AHERN’S “WHERE RAINBOWS END”

It is about a friendship between Alex and Rosie that started since childhood. The strong bond has been there through the years. There has been happiness and trials along the way, and they have always been there for each other…as friends.

Their love for each other was there all along, but they were bit able to identify it as any other than their deep rooted love of being best friends since they were young. If it is love for friendship or if they’re soulmates…they were not able to see it until their later years and accepts it a little more after. Then, they finally found HOME! The one they have been searching for…from others…for a very long time.

The story had been written in a very different and unique way, through exhange of letters. There are story twists that makes you want to stop due to overly long wait for them to reach realization, but then, so intrigued as to what will happen urges you to go on. Until finally at the end you’ll get to say, “Thank God, they made it!”

WHITNEY, MY LOVE

I just finished reading "again" a Judith McNaught bestseller, "Whitney, My LOVE". It is one of those stories that makes me want to read over and over. The love affair of Whitney and the Duke of Claymore Clayton Westmoreland is so perfect one would want to have such story of her own. They also have their obstacles to make it true-to-life romance.

The author made the story last for as long as can be going from one setting to another, one event to another. And there is no dull moment for the reader, that one cannot put down the book to have a break. It also is not so short you're hoping for more, nor is it overly long to be dragging and wearisome.

The main character, Whitney, possesses qualities that is the envy of most. Her beauty is like no other, just as her wit and courage. The Duke of Claymore, as well, supasses one's man of her dreams. The author McNaught was able to bring out the best in each character. Infact, even in her secondary characters.

I love reading a Judith McNaught not just for her superb ideas but also her way of writing. She's one of the authors I favor whenever I search for a novel to read; and I'm hoping to collect all of her books.
