If you have tried NOT putting used socks inside your shoe until your next use and keeping your discarded shoe inside the shoe box, keeping with it the all-day sweat…it’s time that you do another action: STUFF WADS OF NEWSPAPER INSIDE your shoes after each use! It’s a good absorbent.

MR. TROLL

This tiny little thing is my Mr. Troll. He was a 16year old buddy given me by my good friend Ella. That was during my…(uhm 16years ago???)… Senior High. I’ve treasure him just as I’ve treasured my friendship with Ella.

Trolls are creatures from old tales, folklores. According to my research (about 2minutes from the reliable Google search), “A troll is a member of a race of fearsome creatures from Norse mythology. Originally more or less the Nordic equivalents of giants, although often smaller in size” . They were, according to stories, amongst those other creatures living in the wilderness. Just like the dwarves, elves, fairies and other magical creatures in the forest…but these trolls live underground, hills, caves, mounds. But in the Philippines, they came out in the early 90’s, as part of Gift Gate items together with Sanrio’s.

MAGIC BOARD

This really is a “MAGIC” board! Not only does it make Anya good with her writing, with her drawings, and with her imaginations…but it also helps in giving her something to do! In fact sometimes she sit for 2 straight hours with her magic board. This is something I recommend other mothers to provide their kids!!!

This is her 4th board…and it makes her worry to see the last one break saying, “Mom, I don’t want my magic board to break”. And I’ll keep buying for her for as long as she wants it.

MY NEW PHONE

A cellular phone freak friend of my friend, Mimi, have once again got bored with her 6month old phone and decided to have the latest version of Ericsson she’s been crazing over since last 2weeks ago.

Lucky for me, because I’ve been meaning to change to a better one since I last lost the last one I had, and been using a borrowed spare-phone of my sis. Been saving for a more techy phone that I really like, but I’m still a long way from having enough to actually purchase it. Thank heavens, this wacko friend gave in to my bargaining and gave almost half of the original price of this Nokia N95.

Definitely a good buy! The condition is superb, the downloaded songs matches my preference and the price is right. Not only that…it’s the very same techy phone I’m eyeing for its features and elegance.

BEADS~0~MANIA

I was window shopping while I past the time and await the intended time of meeting up with HS friend Fe last week, when a shop caught my interest. It’s a bead shop. Different accessories made of beads…and I remembered my beads here at home.

Last year, I got in the craze of making them myself. It was fun doing them, and I did so for personal use and for gift-giving. Earrings, necklaces, bracelets and anklets…I even tried making belly loops and belts. Thinking about it now, maybe I’ll start doing so again. Most of what I have left are starting to look boring to me…I need some new ones.

INSECTOSOROUS

Anya’s Aunt Jhuaynie brought home another McDonalds Happy Meal “Monster ” toy…this time it’s a cute insectosorous that makes a squeeze-toy like sound when pressed in its belly. It looks more like a bug than a monster. And Anya loves it as well.

MCDONALD HAPPY MEAL

I was “seeing someone” yesterday afternoon and I asked for us to have dessert in McDonalds (am actually craving for a sundae!!!). Had my favorite caramel sundae as dipping for my fries…and remembered I have to buy my li’l kiddo my promised bring-home surprise. There I saw the happy meal toy …Monsters. She love lighted toys thus ended up getting one of their meals too to get hold of this monster that lights up red when pulled…

BAR TO LIQUID SOAP

Too small to use soaps usually lands in the trash. Thinking about it, how many little pieces there is in a month?! Why not try mashing these soap chunks, and put 1/3 of it in a container with small plastic beads. Fill ¾ of the container with water, and let stand for a couple of days. I prefer thin consistency, but thus can be adjusted with the amount of water to be added.

FEEDING BOTTLE

Went out to buy new feeding bottles, and see what I found…

Pretty huh?! I need 10oz, and found this Precious Moments on sale. Good buy, I say! Though it’s a little different…wide neck. Anya loves it as well!

ONSET OF DIAPER-FREE DAYS

Yehey! I can see the onset of diaper-free days!!!

My daughter being three and a half years of age, now takes off her diaper after a midday or an all-night sleep, EMPTY. I hope it’s not just the summer season, being so hot and dehydrating=)

I remember when on her first few months, I tried switching from one brand of diaper to another. I’ve tried some that gave her skin rash, some that leaks, some that’s not so absorbent she felt uneasy after one wetting, some having their gels coming out…and they were even more costly than the originally used Huggies Dry .

So from day 1 until today, she’s using Huggies. I can find no other better than this. I was mistaken to think that it is expensive. It isn’t after all. Because with it, we don’t have to change and change, for even if it’s too full to stay fastened on her she’s still dry; and I need not buy anti-rash creams and powders. Believe me, it’s the best there is!

Not just for the mom’s…but for the babies moreso. Its high cut design keeps her comfortable, with the breathable cloth-like wrap used (not like the plastic ones the other brands use), the soft fastenings that isn’t sharp to cut her skin if misplaced (she did a couple of times with those trials I put her through), plus the cute design of little animals that my kid loves to look at.

Still…it’s nice to give them up…and now it’s just those cute little panties for my little girl.

COUCH

We were out buying this new couch , for a newly extended receiving room. We headed to the finest malls in the shoppin’ district of Makati. There were so many preeminent shops to choose from, but we found the appropriate one that fits-in with the room setting we have already set-up days ago in Home Appliances. They have great deal to choose from. With differing size, style, color and prices of top-notch quality that will tie in with your preference.

Aside from the welcoming magnificence of the store, the cordiality of the assisting staff made the shopping more gratifying.

REMOVE STAINS

Nothing more irritating than to see a stain in your new dress, curtain, wall...or wherever else at home. There are a lot of stain remover brands you can see in the grocery, but why not look into your cupboard first? You might have the easiest and cheapest solution to your stain problem. Try it (I did!) and you'll see what I mean.

- FRUIT & WINE STAIN: pour salt solution or hot water on stain and soak in milk before the actual washing


- COFFEE: mix eggyolk in lukewarm water and rub on stain

- INK: soak in milk or blotch with hydrogen peroxide

- BLOOD: soak in cold water; but for hard-to-remove stains, apply a mixture of cornstarch and talcum powder, allow to dry then brush
away

- CHEWING GUM: rub with ice until gum hardens and peel off

- RUST: saturate with lemon juice then sprinkle and rub with salt. Allow to dry in direct sunlight before washing

DENTIST SCARE

My househelp, Josie, is scared to go to the dentist. Though, I wonder why when she admitted that she have never tried it ever before. Unfortunately, the tooth that troubled her a year ago is back to pestering her. If before, a perfume in a tiny piece of cotton inserted within the decayed tooth worked, now an anti-inflammatory drug which works its magic for a mere couple of hours, is needed.

She finally succumbed to my urging, and we made an appointment for her later in the evening. One advice I could give her to ease her nerves, try spraying a floral scented perfume minutes before meeting her most unfathomable fate of seing her dentist. I heard it has a calming effect that may help her be more at ease.

SHOPPIN' DAY

Shoppin’ time, as always, brings me the feverish feeling of utmost excitement and nerve wrenching anticipation. Along with circumspect anxiety and stimulated palpitations, is a genteel flushing brought about by joy and shopping galore expectation.

…the same goes this bikini-shopping day!

I just have to buy some in preparation for a planned series of family (and friends’) outings. I know which target stores I’ll prioritize. I need to see and fit them all before deciding which top three I will prefer to purchase. That’s how I usually do my shopping, because I always try to go for the best. I get satisfied with those with the least number of available stocks for fear of coming face to face with another having the same as what I have. It also has to go with my style, and what I can carry along comfortably and beautifully. I’m not overly particular with the brand or the price. It just has to reflect…ME!

I FORGOT MY TOOTHBRUSH

I changed bags before I left for an overnight stay at a hospital to accompany my friend who had appendectomy...guess what I left behind? One of the most important gadgets in my purse, my toothbrush. So instead of leaving my friend Beng behind just so I can buy myself one, I followed this wide-read friend's advice of just using a clean cotton ball to wipe each tooth clean ( i f ound a loose thread on the underside of my shirt and used as floss) and rubbed toothpaste with my tongue over my teeth...and voila! cavity-free and fresh breath all sleepless night long.

MOVE!!! run, walk, climb up, climb down, dance,...with this comfy shoes that I wished to have fitted me!

But duh!? it's way too small...that's why, i have it on sale=) haha

MATERNITY DRESS

First pregnancies are mighty special. It is a time where first time mommy’s can’t help getting all excited and fussy with the preparation, and of course, on how they look with this new baggage!

Not everyday that you get to be in this womanly look. And so, you wanted to be one of those who looks alluring and captivating to be very much pregnant! Some even uses clothing that makes the pregnancy obvious to lookers.

Sometimes though, we tend to overspend a little on our maternity dresses just to show-off, but then again, this may not happen again in our lifetime.

Still, it’ll be a lot wiser to be practical. After all, there will be more expenses once the baby is out, so one should try to save as much as possible. So, when we shop for our maternity clothes, let's try to limit them as to our use. Bear in mind that this is a wardrobe just for a few months. That if possible, we look for pretty and comfortable ones that we can possibly use again though we're not carrying anymore. Like a skirt, an oversized shirt, and the likes. They need not be expensive, infact, cheaper than our usual clothes budget.

GLUTATHION

Of course I don't need it, I'm pretty fair in coloring. But my friend Ances does=). We tried comparing and looking for the best brand...

But before all that, we did further research of this craze use of Glutathione. And found out the many benefit of Glutathion, not just as skin lightener. It has an anti-aging effect; It is an anti-oxidant; It helps eliminate toxins in our body thus keeping us healthy and strong. It was even mentioned once that it helps turn carbohydrates into energy, and prevents the buildup of oxidized fats that may contribute to atherosclerosis (a heart problem). These advantages infact, are of greater importance than our first reason for Ances to take it. It further convinced us when we found NO disadvantage. Except that "At present Glutathione supplements do not appear to be effective, but taking the precursors of Glutathione increases your body's production of Glutathion." They mentioned that co-factors are needed, like the B-vitamins, C,E, magnesium,zinc...whey...etc.

There are a lot more of forementioned advantages like cancer, but there are also more of the needed boosters to make it work.

And so, we decided that AS ALWAYS, we need to consult a doctor. A doctor that is familiar with this Glutathione to make it work. Maybe it's best that we wait.

Anyway, there is the so-called Dietary Glutathione which is found in: fresh and frozen fruits and vegetables, fish and meat, asparagus, avocado and walnuts (which are particularly rich dietary sources of glutathione). And another "anyway"...I told Ances that she is beautiful even if she's not fairer than Snow white! haha!

SHOKU

Let me introduce to you the twin brother of my baby Anya. This is SHOKU. He's been with her since her 2nd month of her life (a gift from gramma).

She plays with him, sleeps only if with him, sings with him, laugh with him, and she even tell him stories.
No matter how many other shoku's that comes anew, she loves no one better than her SHOKU =).
