PRE-SCHOOL AGE
The apartment we were renting by this time, somewhere in Quezon City (Philippines), have stairs from the front gate going up the house itself. Under the staircase is a place we used as stock area, and at the same time used as sleeping area by our house help.
One midnight, we heard Norma screamed at the top of her lungs as she scrambled out of bed and came rushing upstairs with an almost incoherent mumbling explanation of seeing a lady in white standing before her bed with all of its hair standing up.
Before this incident, just a few days prior, my dad recounted that I also came rushing up the very same plight of stairs yelling that there’s a man coming after me. The second steel door, after the gate, is definitely locked though, and no reason for them to believe that a possible mugger, kidnapper or anyone coming in.
