POLITICAL JINGLE

The whole of campaign period for the upcoming presedential election you see flyers and banners of different candidates plastered all aroundt he country. In fact, their names and faces can be seen in shirts, jackets, hats, mugs, pens, and all other that can remind one of their existence.

Most expensive of which is the television commercial. But as far as I can see, the most effective campaign tool is the political jingle. With catchy melody, right words and active mesage...they say that "it can seal the deal". Right now, amongst all jingles, I commend Manny Villar's publicist because Villar's is the most heard and not jsut in the television but also from the mouth of children and some adults. They have captured the publics awareness and was able to stick into their memories. My 4 year old can even sing it! The melody's fantastic, the lyrics includes Villar's platform and even the picture itself when viewed is interesting. It may not be the reason for winning but it can somehow add to it.

AT TIMES LIKE THIS

2010 is one of the most awaited year of the century for most Filipino's because of the election that is now very apparently being prepared upon in all corners of the country. Presidency is one position that the people in the whole wide world deem important, thus it is being watched and thought upon by almost everyone. Campaigns are all over, debates among candidates can be witnessed every now and then to prove that they have brains and that their intentions are "supposedly" unselfish; people tries to learn of every one hoping to get that position and so the most popular political blogs are being conquered, newspaper clippings run through, every possible source is being read. At times like this, every source of information one can grab is being grabbed just to know the candidate they are thinking of putting in that position is worthy of their votes.

But not everyone sees this politics as it is. Some read, some look at the world and of what is happening…and still believes that our creator is making possible whatever He thinks must happen. And among us, there are some who looks into the "peace" a candidate can provide the country with and not all those "promises of change" they all use time and again.
