Together with man, toys evolved as well. If in my time, children are content with balls, dolls, or whatever else than can move if you manually make it move, now you can make it move even if you're a meter a way or more. Remote control toys have been with us for quite a long time now, and so they are in fact getting obsolete next to robots who can move with a verbal command, still kids can enjoy anything that is new to them. Even the old-age squeeze toys, pull back cars, battery operated animals that sing, etc. Yet, giving them something a li'l more advanced, like my preferred remote controlled cars or remote controlled helicopters, if possible, is entertaining. I see the wonder in their eyes and it is worth it!
