MULTIPLE LANGUAGES

“SWERTE AKO!” (“I feel lucky!”) Just with the idea that not everyone in the whole wide world knows more than one language upon birth makes me feel that I am indeed “Lucky!”
Almost all Filipino’s understand the English Language and a little below that percentage can speak the language. In reality, there are many among the Filipino’s still knows more than one Filipino dialect since we have a lot of them that differs in every province almost. There is a total of 90 different languages and dialect in our country, but the three major ones are Tagalog, Ilocano and Cebuano.

Aside from these inheritance left by our forefathers coming from the east, west, north and south of the globe…we are continuously learning from the visitors coming from other countries. The media also is a great influence to exposure to other languages. As simple as injecting them in some programs like a cartoon character speaking Spanish or Chinese.

Now I can say…our children are luckier. Primarily because we appreciate the importance of it and that we will surely encourage them to learn more than we can.
