VARICOSE VEINS



I accompanied my mom to her doctor yesterday when she voiced her discomfort with some protruding veins in her legs. Just as I perceived, the docotr confirmed it to be varicose veins. She was then adviced to:

* exercise her legs regularly (jogging, walking, cycling)

* avoid prolonged sitting or standing

* avoid wearing overly tight socks, hose or boots

* wear 1inched-heeled shoes, and avoid flats, sneakers, high-heeled or thin-

soled shoes

* keep her weight down
